Full Professor, Habilitated Doctor Krystyna Czechowicz-Janicka

Graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow (1958)
Doctor of Medical Sciences (1968)
Obtained the degree of a Habilitated Doctor in 1978
Became Professor in 1992
Promoted to Full Professor in 2000


Specializations and main areas of scientific research:
Ophthalmology: glaucoma diagnostics and surgery. Author of the first Polish software for the management of patients in glaucoma clinics. Author and coordinator of the national program of glaucoma prevention in Poland, entitled "Don’t go blind, Poland".


Publications:
Over 150 scientific publications in Polish and foreign journals, 3 books, including a monograph on open-angle glaucoma

The Institute of Glaucoma and Eye Diseases in Warsaw was established in 2002 on the initiative of the Polish Society of Glaucoma Prevention. It is the first Polish non-public specialist centre of glaucoma diagnosis and treatment. Following the example of the best of such centres in the world, it has been functionally organized and equipped with state-of-the art equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. It employs a dedicated team of highly qualified ophthalmologists with many years of clinical experience
