OCT

Optical Coherence Tomography - three dimensional examination of retinal structure in the macula lutea degenarations, different inflamatory diseases and glaucoma.

SL-OCT

Slit-lamp optical coherence tomography - imaging of the anterior segment of the eye - non invasive gonioscopy, pachymetry and glaucoma surgery post-op evaluation.

UBM ultrabiomicroscopy

Ultrasound biomicroscopy equipment for the the anterior segment of the eye examination is unique device in Poland. It allows the retroiridial area diagnostics, as well as glaucoma and intraocular tumours diagnostics, UBM is the only examination method that provides the assessment of the effectiveness of glaucoma surgical and laser procedures.

GDXVCC

The scanning laser polarimeter is a new method for quantifying the thickness of retinal nerve fiber layer, taking into account the corneal parameters. It also makes it possible to detect glaucomatous neuropathy at an early stage, before changes in the visual field become noticeable.

HRT II

Confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy allows us to assess optical nerve head abnormalities. Such an examination is indispensable in glaucoma diagnostics, monitoring and treatment. An objective assessment of the optic nerve during therapy enables us to choose an optimal method of treatment for each glaucoma patient.

FDT – frequency doubling technology perimetry

The latest method of evaluating glaucoma functional abnormalities, allows us to detect defects in the visual field much earlier than with other common techniques of automatic perimetry.

Pascal Dynamic Contour Tonometry

The most up-to-date method of measuring intraocular pressure, which also takes into account the degree of blood perfusion in the eyeball. In future, it will probably replace conventional methods of intraocular pressure measurement

Pachymeter

Ultrasonic measurement of the corneal thickness, necessary in diagnosing ocular hypertension and low-tension glaucoma. It is also indicated before combined surgery, and is currently a routine examination in glaucoma dignostics

USG A+B+3D

A technology based on original solutions that enables us to carry out traditional ultrasonographic examinations of the posterior section of the eyeball combined with three-dimensional imaging of intraocular changes as well as measuring their volume (e.g. for intraocular tumours and detachment of the retina). An eyeball biometry can be performed simultaneously to assess short-sightedness

SLT laser

SLT – Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty – may become the alternative for medications or surgical therapy in young glaucoma patients

The latest equipment of international standards

The Institute of Glaucoma is equipped with state-of-the art diagnostic equipment allowing us to detect pathological changes at an earlier stage of glaucoma, which is not possible using traditional, commonly used equipment.

Modern equipment enables the precise diagnosis of the type of glaucoma and to evaluate the general condition of the eye as well as the progress of the disease, allowing us to choose the most effective method of treatment for each patient. We realize that it is the knowledge of our experienced specialists, combined with the most up-to-date medical equipment, which can determine the success of further treatment of glaucoma
