The Institute of Glaucoma and Eye Diseases in Warsaw was established in 2002 on the initiative of the Polish Society of Glaucoma Prevention. It is the first Polish non-public specialist centre of glaucoma diagnosis and treatment. Following the example of the best of such centres in the world, it has been functionally organized and equipped with state-of-the art equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. THE DIAGNOSTIC PROCESS

The Institute of Glaucoma is equipped with state-of-the art diagnostic equipment allowing us to detect pathological changes at an earlier stage of glaucoma, which is not possible using traditional commonly used equipment. Contract with the National Health Fund.

THE TREATMENT

On top of the conventional medication therapy the Institute’s team performs many complicated glaucoma surgical procedures (NFZ reimbursement), as well as laser selective trabeculoplasty using latest SLT laser equipment . SLT is the world newest glaucoma therapeutic device, recently accessible in the Institute of Glaucoma.

THE TEAM

The Institute of Glaucoma consists of ophthalmologists with many years of clinical experience. Doctors from Institute’s team are members of several Polish and International Professional Associations, involved in scientific research, academic teaching and training seminars. The Institute’s team is led by Prof. Krystyna Czechowicz-Janicka.
